Tour Plan
Meeting on the beach before sunset Meet your crew at the beach in Nungwi. Settle in on board, get comfortable, and enjoy your first drink as the dhow prepares to set sail.
Sailing out — the golden hour The dhow heads out from shore into open water as the light starts to turn. Traditional dhows sail quietly under a large triangular sail, so there's little engine noise — just water, wind and conversation. Drinks and snacks are served on board as the sky shifts through orange, pink and gold.
Sunset — the main event As the sun nears the horizon, the crew positions the boat for the best view, and you watch it drop into the ocean from open water — a very different experience from watching it from the beach.
Sailing back — after sunset A relaxed sail back to shore as the sky finishes its show and the first stars appear. Disembark at the beach where you started.
Total duration: approximately 2 to 3 hours, timed to the day's sunset.
