On Day 1, you will depart from Moshi (950m/3,117ft) and drive to Londorosi Gate (2,250m/7,382ft) for registration before continuing to the trailhead. The hike begins through the forest to reach Shira 1 Camp (3,610m/11,844ft), where you'll spend your first night on the mountain.
Day 2 involves trekking across the Shira Plateau, a scenic route with expansive views of the surrounding landscape. You'll arrive at Shira 2 Camp (3,850m/12,631ft) by the afternoon, with time to acclimatize and explore the area.
On Day 3, you'll leave Shira 2 Camp (3,850m/12,631ft) and ascend towards the Lava Tower (4,600m/15,092ft), where you will stop for lunch. Afterward, you will descend to Barranco Camp (3,900m/12,795ft), where the steep Barranco Wall looms ahead.
